Grey Viking is winning Charter Boat of the 2012 Brighton Pollack Competiton with a fish of 16lb 12oz to Robin (Fishy Rob) Howard. The May Rot is clearing on the wrecks so Cod and Pollack catches should get back to normal this month. In the meantime the reef fishing down at Kingmere started a month early this year and continues to be excellent. We've had several specimen Bream over 4lb already with good catches most days and some decent Bass and Smoothounds too. The Plaice fishing is still good further inshore, so plenty to go for.

Brighton Marina Sea Fishing Trips and Charters
We offer a wide range of sea fishing from Brighton Marina with trips and charters for novice and experienced anglers alike. We will ensure you have an enjoyable and pleasurable trip and can provide quality hire rods and reels, end tackle and bait if required. For the beginners amongst you free tuition and advice is happily provided. As a destination Brighton Marina has it all to offer with good fishing all year round, free parking and a well stocked tackle shop near the boat. If you are staying over there is plenty of entertainment within the Marina and city centre and lots of places to stay.
Wreck Fishing Trips
Our wreck fishing trips usually run from January to November. Brighton is established as one of the premier wrecking ports in the UK, with over 200 wrecks in the English Channel off Sussex alone! Early in the year Pollack fishing is our main target with specimens to 20lb plus on the cards and Cod arriving later in the spring. We mostly fish on the drift with lures, until later in the summer when Cod fishing with bait at anchor becomes more productive. We also target Ling, Conger and Bass on the wrecks and can tailor a charter for these species but it's best to book early if you want the best suitable tides!
Reef and Ground Fishing
Our reef and ground fishing trips are a popular and more relaxing alternative to wrecking. We generally fish at anchor with bait over rough grounds or reefs a few miles from shore, depending on the time of year. From the spring we target Plaice, Dabs, Skate, Smoothhounds and Tope. May and June is the start of the Black Bream and Bass fishing on the rocks to the west of Brighton, with the chance of a Conger Eel too. Mackeral are plentiful from April until October. Good baits include lug and ragworm, squid, cuttle and crab. Winter is an exciting time on the ground when the Cod move inshore and from October until January there is every chance of a 20lb plus Cod, with double figure specimens caught regularly just a few miles from shore. Cuttle is the top winter Cod bait closely followed by squid and black lug.
Boat Trips and Charters
If you are looking for boat trips for stag do's, hen parties or charters for any special occasion we promise a warm and friendly service and a trip to remember. Enjoy a full day or a few hours cruise along Brighton seafront, or along the cliffs of Seven Sisters to Beachy Head with a cold beer or champagne in hand. On the longer trips there is time to drop the anchor for a picnic or party and top up that tan!
We also undertake a wide range of work boat duties on a one-off or contracted basis from our home port in Brighton Marina. With a 60 mile COP we also operate regularly out of Eastbourne (Sovereign Harbour), Newhaven, Shoreham and Littlehampton.
