We have now opened our diary for 2011 and are taking bookings. It’s best to book early for next year, especially if you want a weekend and/or the best tides!
Our diary is getting very full for 2010 leading to disappointment for some – especially those looking for weekend dates or good tides. We have some availability on weekdays and a few weekends from September through until the end of the year.
Now is also the time to be thinking about booking for winter Cod. October through until the end of December see’s the best of the winter Cod Fishing, with bigger tides generally the most productive.
We keep our online calendar updated if you want to check available dates. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Edit: I forgot to add that our Individual’s Days on Wednesdays and Fridays are proving to be very popular so if you want to book a space(s) please do get in touch!
Grey Viking II was on a mission to catch Bream today, and it all came together with a good haul of 41 Bream and out biggest of the year so far at 4lb 8oz. We were out with one of our regular crews (Mr Hirose) and today the target species was Bream. It was an early kick and we were down in the marina at 6.00am. With the crew all arriving in good time and eager to go fishing we were underway before 7.15am. We stopped on the way to feather up some Mackerel on our way to the reef and found that they were easy pickings. No sooner were the feathers lowered and they were returning to the surface with some really good sized and quality Mackerel hanging from them. There was no need to stop for long as we soon had plenty so the engines started and we on our way again. The first drop produced our first Bream. This was the first of many more to come. Today we have been fishing the reefs for Bream on one of our regular Friday individuals trips. The day started with persistant rain but this didn’t put a dampener on our spirits as we know that fishing for Bream on light tackle is always excellent sport. We used a running ledger with a 6 ft trace to a size 2 circle hook and used squid as bait. Read the rest of this entry »
With a day off and Ray doing a few routine jobs on Grey Viking I was excited to be going fishing after recieving an invite to go after Smoothhounds with Neil French (Frenchie) aboard his charter boat Spirit of Arun. I got up at 4.30am to sort myself and get across to Littlehampton. I was really excited that today I would break my PB which stands at 10lb for a Smoothhound as the grounds that Neil’s fishing are alive with them. There was also a chance of getting a Tope which is what I really wanted out of the trip as Neil had caught a good Tope the previous two days on the same fishing mark. Read the rest of this entry »

The morning of the pollack competition had finally arrived and after twice being cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions today was to be third time lucky. Eager and full of excitement we were up at 5am in order to get down the marina early. It took no time at all to gather everything we needed as we had spent the evening before making sure that we had everything ready and all set to go. The car was loaded with the Viking hats for the crew and all that needed doing was to don the Viking costume grab a quick cup of tea and head off. Read the rest of this entry »
The hottest day of the year so far and the crew today wanted a Bream fishing trip. Despite not being the most perfect tide for it, we have been hearing that at long last the Bream are starting to show and are being caught even though they are not yet in massive numbers. This was to be our first Bream trip of the year and so we were down the marina early in order to change the anchor and get an early start. Read the rest of this entry »
