Brighton Sea Fishing Trips and Charters

We offer a wide variety of sea fishing trips and charters from Brighton Marina aboard our charter boat Grey Viking II - purpose designed for sea fishing with Cat 2 coding for operation up to 60 miles from a safe haven with full safety equipment and all the latest electronics.

Brighton is one of the best sea fishing venues on the South Coast with free parking, a tackle shop next to the boat and, most importantly, great fishing all year round.

Deep Sea Wreck Fishing Trips

Our wreck fishing trips are run from January through to November, targetting a variety of species such as Cod, Pollack, Ling, Conger, Bream and Bass depending on the time of year. We have literally hundreds of deep sea wrecks to fish offshore in the English Channel, making Brighton the premier wrecking port on the South Coast.

We fish on the drift with lures or at anchor with bait, depending on the target species, tide and time of year. The wrecks we fish are generally lying in depths of 45 - 65 metres.

Deep sea wreck fishing offers fantastic sport with some great catches on the cards but it's a physically demanding day. If you're looking for a more relaxing trip or for those new to boat fishing we suggest a day's reef or ground fishing might be more appropriate!

Reef and Ground Fishing Trips

Reef and ground fishing trips run all year round. This style of fishing is mostly at anchor over rough ground or inshore reefs and gullies in shallower water - typically around 20 metres deep. This makes for a more relaxing day and because we are at anchor the Skipper has more time to help beginners. We mostly fish with bait rather than lures for this style of fishing - usual baits are fresh mackeral caught on the way and squid, cuttle, crab or worm.

There are a huge variety of fish to catch when ground fishing. Spring to Autumn speices include Bass, Mackerel, Bream, Conger Eel, Tope, Smoothhound, Spurdog, Plaice, Dab, Gurnard, Garfish and Thornback Ray to name a few.

In the winter months from October to January we enjoy some of the best Whiting and Cod fishing in the UK. All winter Cod fishing is inshore on the ground with big cuttle fish or squid and lug worm baits.

Sea Fishing Charters - Prices for 2012

Here are our prices for sea fishing charters in 2012. We keep our online calendar updated if you want to check available dates.

• A deposit of £150 is required for boat bookings. The balance is payable in cash on the day.
• For individuals the full price is payable at the time of booking.
• In the event of bad weather we offer another date or refund.
• Please ring between 5pm and 7pm the evening before to check the weather is ok to go.
• Rod hire can be arranged on the day if needed and includes one set of end tackle.
• bair or Lures will need to be purchased separately and we can organise this on your behalf.
• The tackle shop adjacent to the boat opens at 0700 for your bait and tackle requirements.
• Boarding is 0700 to 0715 for departure at 0730 (unless otherwise agreed or stated) for standard 8 hour fishing trips.
• FUEL SURCHARGE - due to rising diesel costs a fuel surcharge may apply to trips more than 20 miles offshore.
