Today we were out on Grey Viking with Lymington Tech Services surveying the marina entrance etc ahead of the dreading work that is to take place. Paul and his sidekick joined us on board, whilst they set up the equipment necessary we all tucked into a McDonald’s’ breakfast. The sun was out and it looked like we were going to enjoy some nice weather.
Breakfast eaten and ready to start work saw the sun disappear behind a nice big black cloud. Just enough time for coats to be collected before we got going we were all prepared for whatever the weather had to throw at us. As it turned out we didn’t see any rain but it wasn’t the warm May day we were all hoping for.
Having a tide with a 5.2 metre range and very little wind we were able to easily cover all the areas of the marina that we would normally be keeping well away from due to the way it silts up.
Ray put all his boat handle skills to good use to cover every inch of the marina entrance before moving on to fairways.
With all the information being gathered and plenty of tea, biscuits (which were some cheap ones that Paul had bought with him) and chatter the day flew by and before we knew it, it was time to offload all the equipment and get ready for our evening fishing trip.
Thank you guys for another really nice day.
