What a fantastic day to be out on the water. A lovely sunny day and hardly a sniff of wind. Ray left Brighton marina with his crew on board Grey Viking II around 7.30am and headed off to the wreck he had selected to fish first today. It was a big tide today so the drifts were running at around 1.5 to 2.0 knots before slack water and although the first couple of drifts failed to bring any fish on board drift number 4 got us off to a good start for the day.
The crew today was made up of 6 lads Neil, Jonny, Michael, Westley, Richard and Matt. I was unable to join the crew today as I had a first aid course to attend so I will let the pictures outline the events of the day.
Matt proved to be the top man bringing in 3 Cod and 4 Pollack all lovely fish and one of his Cod being the biggest caught today.
Neil was the proud owner of the biggest Pollack today and amongst the fish he caught was also this lovely Gurnard.
Jonny will be the crew member drowning his sorrows at the pub tonight as all he landed was pouting after pouting after pouting. You can just about see Jonny hiding behind his friend Matt. (We can see you!!!! :o)
Richard and Westley were also having a good time catching both Cod and Pollack.
Michael’s best fish today was an 8lb Pollack.
I am sure there is much more to tell on the events of the day but I think the smiles say enough.
